PROCare has been shortlisted for two categories at the Building Communities Awards for social housing bathrooms:
· Supplier of the Year
· Innovative Solution of the Year

If you work in social housing, housing maintenance, construction, adaptations or installation, you will know these awards focus on practical delivery. They recognise organisations that improve outcomes on real projects, for residents and for the teams responsible for delivering safe, compliant homes.
You can see the awards and categories here: https://www.bc-awards.co.uk/
We're pleased to be shortlisted because it reflects the day to day work that goes into making projects more predictable, installations easier to manage and bathrooms safer for residents.
Why we have been shortlisted for Supplier of the Year
This category is not about volume of supply. It is about how suppliers support delivery in the real conditions of social housing.
PROCare works alongside housing providers, local authorities, installers and occupational therapists. We do not simply supply products and step away.
In practical terms, this means:
· One order, one invoice, reducing administration and improving accountability
· OT led surveys completed properly first time, reducing redesign and delay
· Next day turnaround on many core wet room and bathroom products
· Consistent specifications that support compliance and reduce call backs
We support more than 20,000 bathroom, wet room and accessible kitchen installations each year. Many of these are urgent adaptations where delays directly affect resident safety, hospital discharge and independence.
Our role is to reduce friction, remove handover risk and help programmes keep moving.

Why we have been shortlisted for Innovative Solution of the Year
Innovation in social housing does not need to be complex. It needs to be effective.
Our shortlisted approach, Fit for Our Future, focuses on prevention rather than reaction.
Instead of waiting for:
· a fall
· a hospital admission
· an emergency occupational therapy referral
We support housing providers to build safety, accessibility and dignity into homes earlier, during new build, voids and planned works.
This includes:
· Dual purpose adaptations that function as everyday bathroom fittings
· Design led wet rooms that support independence without looking clinical
· Accessible kitchens and bathrooms that residents accept and use long term
The outcomes are practical and measurable:
· Fewer falls in the home
· Reduced adaptation waiting times
· More predictable work programmes
· Improved resident confidence and satisfaction
This approach reduces the need for crisis driven interventions and repeat visits, while supporting people to remain safely at home for longer.
What this means for installers and delivery partners
Our approach reflects what delivery teams in the housing sector need:
· Products that fit properly first time
· Wet room systems and bathroom components designed for straightforward installation
· Clear technical information provided early
· Fewer return visits, fewer complaints and fewer variations
Good design is about reducing avoidable problems during installation and supporting consistent quality across housing stock.
Where PROCare fits as a strategic partner
PROCare does not install bathrooms. That is deliberate.
We focus on manufacturing, supplying and supporting bathroom, wet room and accessible kitchen solutions that work first time in the real conditions of social housing delivery.
We operate as a national public sector supplier, combining manufacturing, distribution, technical expertise and sector knowledge under one roof. Unlike transactional supply models, we support partners across the adaptation journey, from survey and specification through to delivery and post supply technical support. This reduces fragmentation, improves accountability and lowers risk.
We are framework approved on Procure Plus, Fusion21 and PfH, supporting compliant procurement for councils and housing associations across the UK.
What success looks like
For housing providers, success is not simply a lower unit cost. It is:
· Fewer complaints and complex cases
· Fewer repeat visits and reactive repairs
· Safer, more dignified bathrooms and wet rooms
· Stronger confidence in asset performance and regulatory outcomes
PROCare supports this by helping make some of the most challenging areas of the home more predictable, durable and fit for the future.
Thank you
These shortlists did not happen in isolation. Thank you to EEM for running the Building Communities Awards and recognising work that improves outcomes across social housing. Thank you also to the housing providers, installers, occupational therapists and partners who continue to work with us. Your experience and challenge shape how we operate.
As the awards approach, our focus remains the same. Delivering safer bathrooms, reliable wet rooms and accessible kitchens that support people properly, without drawing attention to the adaptations themselves
