PROCare Proudly Purple Beyond Purple Tuesday

PROCare are proudly supporting Purple Tuesday, but for us - making the world more accessible isn’t a tick-box exercise. It’s the reason we get out of bed every morning. Since 2002, we’ve been designing and supplying wet room and bathroom solutions that don’t just meet regulations but support people through the ups and downs of life.

We’re using Purple Tuesday as an opportunity to look at how accessible and functional our website really is for the people who use it most. Over the coming months, we’ll be reviewing how we present our products and services to make things clearer and easier to navigate for local authorities working under the DFG, contractors, occupational therapists and housing associations. Because when the people specifying and installing accessible solutions can work more efficiently, more homes get fitted right and more people living with disabilities or mobility challenges get the dignity, comfort and independence they deserve.


We also know that getting products right for different conditions and home environments means being flexible and responsive. That’s why we purchased Autumn UK. You can spot them proudly wearing PROCare purple, and they’re now a vital part of what we do.

Bringing Autumn UK into the fold has allowed us to offer even more bespoke options for our half-height carer shower doors and the TRU Cubicle. This temporary accessible showering and toileting solution can be positioned anywhere in the home and is designed to protect the dignity of every individual living in and using the space.


The idea that accessible products should be well-designed and long-lasting is what PROCare was built on. That principle still drives everything we do. Every grab rail is made to last and designed to look good in any bathroom. Our Doc M packs meet full compliance standards without making the space feel clinical. Our shower seats and foldaway shower doors give carers the space to assist without compromising someone’s independence or dignity. We’ve developed toilets and basins that can be raised or swapped out as a person’s needs change. Our wet rooms are designed from the ground up with real accessibility in mind. And that’s just the start. Every product we make is about offering flexibility, dignity and support for people at every stage of life.


We know most people will experience disability at some point in their life, whether it’s temporary or long term. With 16 million disabled people in the UK and less than 10 percent of homes offering basic accessibility features, the need for good design has never been greater. Add to that the growing pressure from funding cuts and a lack of suitable housing, and it’s clear that inclusive design is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s essential.


That’s why we’re committed to doing more not just in our products, but in the way we talk about them and the way people find and access them. Our website review is just one step. The real mission is making sure our work keeps pace with what people need in the real world. Because accessible design isn’t about labels. It’s about making everyday life work better for everyone.
