At PROCare, we work closely with housing teams, OTs, contractors and local councils to help deliver accessible homes that feel good to live in. From well designed wetrooms to practical, future proof kitchens, everything we make is about giving people more dignity, more choice and more independence. That is why we are proud to sponsor Louis Telford, a 23 year old wheelchair athlete & inclusive independent living advocate, from Wigan, who competes internationally in padel tennis and wheelchair basketball.

Louis represents Britain every month and is currently ranked number 3 in the UK for wheelchair padel. His goal is to reach number 1 by the end of the year. He also works to develop inclusive sport at a grassroots level, helping to grow the game in Liverpool and supporting younger players into adaptive sport.
Accessible spaces that support independence
Louis lives in a wheelchair accessible home. Like many tenants in private, social housing or supported living schemes, he relies on well planned adaptations to stay independent. But not all adaptations are created equal.
"The council sorted my extension and wetroom, but everything was white and medical looking. It didn’t feel right. I paid for chrome rails and more modern options myself. When I visited PROCare, I saw things that actually looked good and made sense."
Louis is a fan of PROCare’s shower chairs and wetroom layouts, designed with input from OT’s to combine safety, ease of use and aesthetics. These are the kinds of independent living bathroom products that housing providers and contractors trust us to deliver at scale.

Real life, real results
This year, Louis will travel to Dubai and China to compete in the Inclusive Padel Tour, where disabled and non disabled athletes play side by side. He’ll earn ranking points, gain exposure, and continue pushing the boundaries of what inclusive sport can look like.
Back in the UK, he’s mentoring young athletes and building community through sport – something that starts at home, with an environment that supports dignity and independence.
We’re proud to support him. His story reflects the impact of proactive, thoughtful home adaptations delivered through partnerships. Similar to how we partner with housing associations, OTs, contractors and local councils.
