Celebrating Our Win for Resident Safety Initiative

What an incredible moment for us at PROCare. Winning the Best Resident Safety Initiative at the 2025 Northern Housing Awards is not just a win for our team. It is a win for every resident, housing provider and care professional we have worked with to make homes safer and more accessible across the UK.

This recognition means so much, especially because it highlights the impact of what we do every single day. We were also proud to be shortlisted for Professional Services Partnership of the Year. That shortlisting reflects the strong partnerships that are at the heart of how we work.

We are not just a supplier of accessible products. We are a family run business built on care, compassion and a clear mission. Our goal is to make inclusive design, accessibility and future proof housing solutions a reality for every home. At our core, we believe that dignity and independence should never be compromised by someone’s environment.

The reality is that over a million people in the UK are still living in homes that do not meet their basic accessibility needs. Many face delays of over a year for essential home adaptations. That is not just a housing issue. It is a wellbeing issue. It contributes to unnecessary hospital stays, puts pressure on social care services and takes away people’s confidence in their own homes.

Through our work in home adaptations, we help housing providers and local authorities deliver faster and more effectively. We create wheelchair accessible homes, barrier free bathrooms and disability friendly housing that support safe and independent living.

From bathroom for disabled design to smart housing adaptations, we are rethinking what accessibility looks like.

Our solutions are practical, but they are also personal. Every wet room we deliver and every accessible kitchen we supply is more than a product. These are tools that restore autonomy. They are spaces where someone can move without fear, cook without difficulty and live with confidence again.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration. We work closely with occupational therapists, housing officers and social care teams to deliver adaptable housing design that meets real life needs. Whether it is helping someone return home after hospital or future proofing a property for an ageing resident, we listen, we learn and we build together.

PROCare is a family in more than name. We treat each other and our partners with care, compassion and respect. We are collaborative in everything we do. We are resilient when challenges arise. We are passionate about changing lives through inclusive and accessible design. And we never stop innovating.

That is why we have launched our Fit for Our Future campaign. It is a call to action for more proactive home adaptations and more investment in universal design in housing. Because housing that works for everyone should not be seen as a luxury. It is a basic need.

Studies show that only seven percent of homes in England offer even the most basic accessibility features. That gap is staggering. With falls in the home making up the majority of injury related emergency visits for those over 65, especially in bathrooms, we cannot ignore the growing need for aging population housing solutions.

From our 75,000 square foot facility in Wigan, we manufacture our own specialist product range while also supplying top industry brands. We offer nationwide support and full service delivery from surveys and design to manufacturing and logistics. Our goal is to simplify the process and provide total solution services from start to finish.

At PROCare, we do not settle for minimum standards. We lead with vision and purpose. We are changing perceptions by proving that accessible home improvements can be modern, attractive and life changing.

We are proud of what we have achieved so far. We are excited about what comes next. And most of all, we are committed to the people who rely on us to create safe, comfortable and dignified homes.

Thank you to our team, our partners and the residents who inspire us every day.
