Accessible bathroom supplier PROCare wins Supplier of the Year and Innovative Solution of the Year at Building Communities Awards

PROCare is proud to announce it has won two major industry awards at the 2026 Efficiency East Midlands Building Communities Awards. In March 2026, we were named Supplier of the Year and Innovative Solution of the Year, recognising our leadership as an accessible bathroom supplier for social housing adaptations. These awards highlight PROCare’s commitment to safer, more inclusive homes and faster, more reliable delivery for housing teams and residents.

PROCare works alongside housing providers, local authorities, contractors and occupational therapists to deliver safe, accessible home adaptations. As an accessible bathroom supplier, we simplify the adaptation process. For example, we support more than 20,000 bathroom, wet room and accessible kitchen installations each year. Many of these installations are urgent adaptations where delays directly affect resident safety and timely hospital discharge. By providing one order and one invoice per project, and consistent technical support, we remove handover risks and help programmes keep moving on schedule.

Supplier of the Year: Accessible bathroom supplier excellence

The Supplier of the Year category is not about sales volume – it’s about how a supplier supports real-world project delivery. PROCare’s approach goes beyond product supply to actively assist housing teams. In practice, this means we:

  • Provide one order, one invoice, reducing administration and improving accountability.

  • Ensure OT-led surveys are done right first time, cutting out redesign and rework.

  • Offer next-day turnaround on many core wet-room and bathroom products to meet urgent needs.

  • Maintain consistent specifications that support compliance and reduce call-backs.

These efforts ensure installations proceed smoothly for housing officers, contractors and OTs. This commitment to support earned PROCare the Supplier of the Year award, validating our goal of making adaptations straightforward for all partners.

Innovative Solution of the Year: Fit For Our Future campaign

PROCare’s Innovative Solution of the Year award was won by our Fit For Our Future campaign. This campaign, launched in July 2024, promotes proactive adaptation design – putting safety and dignity into homes from the start. Instead of waiting for problems, we encourage solutions such as:

  • Dual-purpose adaptations that look like everyday fittings but include built-in safety features (e.g. grab rails and half-height doors in wet rooms).

  • Design-led wet rooms that support independence without feeling clinical.

  • Accessible kitchens and bathrooms that residents actually want to use long-term.

The measurable outcomes of this approach include fewer falls in the home, reduced adaptation waiting times, more predictable work programmes, and improved resident confidence and satisfaction. In short, our innovations reduce crisis-driven interventions and help people remain safely at home longer.

For example, our accessible kitchen solutions allow tenants to prepare food and clean with dignity, complementing the safe bathing environments we deliver. By combining everyday usability with safety, PROCare’s adaptations help people remain independent and enjoy their homes.

What this means for housing teams

For housing officers, contractors and occupational therapists, PROCare’s double award win is a sign of trust. Working with PROCare means:

  • Streamlined procurement – one supplier handles everything from survey advice to delivery, cutting out duplicated effort.

  • Reliable specifications – consistent, compliant products mean OT recommendations fit first time, reducing redesign and delays.

  • Fast delivery and support – next-day turnaround and technical guidance help keep adaptation projects on track.

  • Dignified, effective solutions – stylish, user-friendly bathrooms and kitchens that tenants accept, improving resident satisfaction.

In practice, that means fewer reactive repairs and complaints, and greater confidence in safety and compliance for local authorities and housing providers. PROCare’s role as an award-winning accessible bathroom supplier demonstrates that we make adaptations easier and safer for everyone involved.

We’re grateful to the Building Communities Awards judges for recognising our work. For housing teams looking to streamline home adaptations, PROCare’s award-winning solutions are ready to help you deliver fast, safe and independent living environments for residents.
