SOCIAL housing residents from Merseyside converged on Pemberton to see how their landlord can adapt their homes to suit people’s specific disabilities.
The Procare Shower and Bathroom Centre on the Enfield Industrial Estate was the venue for the special open day as Riverside housing tenants were able to view special showers and bathroom fittings that can make life easier for disabled and infirm people. Riverside’s regeneration project manager, said: “We are committed to delivering a first class service for all our tenants.
“We are working with specialist service providers to install disabled adaptations in homes so that we can get it right for all our tenants.
“The open day was a great opportunity to hear directly from tenants about which adaptation services are right for them.”
Problems
Riverside has carried out adaptations for over 300 homes in the last 12 months following requests from tenants who have long term health or mobility problems.
Riverside is one of the leading social housing and regeneration organisations in England, owning or managing around 50,000 homes with 2,000 staff and a turnover of more than £180m.
